The Netherlands

Abstract
It is a remarkable thing about The Netherlands that it has the biggest ‘land problem’ of any Western European country (land is scarcest there) but that this results in fewer social and political problems (land speculation, unearned capital gains on land, distortions of urban development and redevelopment) than in most other countries. The Dutch may not be able to make land plentiful, but they have prevented the land scarcity from creating subsidiary problems.
