Abstract
Though some of the pathophysiologic processes remain obscure, the complex relationships of reflux, infection, and nephropathy are sufficiently understood to provide compelling evidence of the need for early diagnosis and treatment. Since the major damage occurs early in life, effective infant screening offers the best chance of preventing irreversible and life-threatening nephropathy. Keywords
