Abstract
Laboratory experiments are reviewed and the application of derived results is discussed. "It is shown that thermal diffusion-convection effects successfully account for differentiation; also for such cases where a separation of the contact facies has taken place in a horizontal direction, cases difficult to explain by the settling of crystals."
