Abstract
Using a method of singular perturbation, the theory of the rotating spherical electrode has been extended to include the correction terms for convective diffusion at small Schmidt numbers. The resulting rate equation expressed in the form of an asymptotic series permits a good approximation of the transfer rate for . Within this region the accuracy of the theory increases with increasing Schmidt numbers; the maximum error, occurring at , is less than 5%.
