Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome Associated withStreptococcus pneumoniae

Abstract
Streptococcus pneumoniae is a common pathogen in children, in whom it causes a variety of infectious and noninfectious syndromes. One of the less well recognized syndromes is the hemolytic uremic syndrome occurring as a complication of a previous invasive infection, as exemplified by the following case report.
