Abstract
A survey of the literature on theoretical models for the anomalous ion thermal diffusivity is reported, emphasising in particular the experimental conditions for which each is valid. The results of a systematic comparison of these models against JET observations on anomalous ion transport, taking full account of the validity conditions, are given. This provides a basis for assessing the value of these various models. Keywords
