Abstract
SUMMARY: Extracts (ultrasonic treatment) of Clostridium sordellii contained a lysolecithinase, which was activated by ether, calcium ions and ammonium sulphate and inhibited by EDTA, magnesium and manganese. The enzyme was not responsible for the lethality, oedema-producing or haemorrhagic actions of extracts of the organism.
