Abstract
The authors present material on software classification, survey existing techniques, describe research on faceted classification, contrast the different approaches, and describe the process of constructing a faceted classification scheme. They describe an automated library system based on faceted classification that is being prototyped. Some management issues related to the establishment of a reusability program within an organization and the effective use of a software component library, are discussed.<>Keywords
