IBUPROFEN, MENINGITIS, AND SYSTEMIC LUPUS-ERYTHEMATOSUS

Abstract
A 33 yr old female with systemic lupus erythematosus developed an aseptic meningitis with a polymorphonuclear CSF pleocytosis temporally correlated with ibuprofen. Several weeks later after 1 ibuprofen tablet this syndrome recurred. This represents the 2nd report of this unusual manifestation and suggests an adverse reaction to ibuprofen in SLE patients.
