Abstract
It is possible to get observer agreement as to the meaning of vocalizations for infants at the 10th and 11th age level (20-22 mos.). There is a significant increase in the number of word approximations from the 10th to the 11th age level and a significant increase in the number of words attempted. There was no increase in the number of correct pronunciations from one age level to another. There were no sex differences which were significant. Keywords
