Abstract
A sequence of eleven faunal units characterized by pelagic foraminifera and embodying thirteen significant events has been recognized in the Tertiary of Victoria. They form a continuous sequence from the Upper Eocene to the Middle Miocene. Some of these events have been recognized in the same order in New Zealand, Europe, North America, the Caribbean region, and Saipan. Keywords
