PELVIC LIPOMATOSIS

Abstract
Pelvic lipomatosis is a roentgenographic and clinical entity recognizable as a characteristic and peculiar deformity of the rectum and urinary bladder. It is produced by a diffuse infiltration of fibroadipose tissue in the true pelvis surrounding those organs. A case is reported which also exhibited prominent pericardial fat pads. The roentgenographic appearance is pathognomonic and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures are unnecessary.
