Abstract
The possibility of strong hydrogen bonding of the S–H–S type is investigated in the H2S–HS− adduct, using ab initio MO LCAO SCF techniques. A variety of configurations are considered. A symmetric linear form of the adduct with a very strong hydrogen bond is found to be most stable. Some properties of this bond are discussed. Keywords
