Abstract
The Ca composition y in the Bi4(Sr1-y Ca y )6Cu4O x (B-phase) was found to change from 0.24 to 0.61 as the initial composition of the mixture changed. By the heating of the mixture with y0.75, the Bi2(Sr, Ca)2CuO x (A-phase) was produced. The lattice parameter of the B-phase along the c-axis changed from 30.9 Å to 30.6 Å (Δ c/c=1.0%) depending on y, while the change of the lattice parameter along the a-axis was within 0.2%. It was pointed out that the agreement of the lattice parameter of the Cu-O and (Sr, Ca)-O planes was important to stabilize the perovskite structure composed by Cu, Sr, Ca and O.Keywords
