Abstract
Martin and Newton have proved some sufficient conditions of solubility and uniqueness for the unitarity integral equation. Application to experimentally known differential cross sections justified by appropriate assumptions shows that these conditions are, in general, not satisfied. Similarily, the angular distribution discussed by Crichton does not meet the solubility condition. Keywords
