Abstract
Traditional methods for the analysis of office work have focussed on the quantitative rather than on the qualitative and social aspects, while neglecting cooperation and the social context of managerial work. Based on an empirical study, a framework for office work analysis is presented. It shows the kind of support required for different components of managerial work and the dependence of management on contributions of secretaries. Finally, possibilities for increasing the effectiveness of managerial work through new technology are presented. Keywords
