Abstract
Recent advances in electrostatic particle analysers enable a detailed analysis of impurity and fuel ions in the tokamak boundary. The paper presents measurements of impurity content, charge state mix, ion temperature, ion energy distribution functions, sheath voltage and secondary electron yields obtained in the DITE tokamak. The consequences of these results for the understanding of impurity production processes are discussed. Keywords
