Abstract
A process was developed for the preparation of high-purity tungsten with unusual resistance to grain growth at elevated temperatures. The hydrogen reduction of tungsten hexafluoride in a fluidized bed of tungsten seed particles was used to prepare the granular product. These granules were then consolidated into various shapes by a gas-pressure-bonding technique. Consolidated bars were rolled to premium quality sheet and strip. Keywords
