Abstract
From the roots of D. scandens, the isoflavone osajin and two new isoflavones, scandenone and scandinone have been isolated and characterised. They have been shown to be closely related to lonchocarpic acid and scandenin, previously isolated from the same source. The biogenesis of these compounds is discussed. Keywords
