Abstract
Tetrapropylammonium perruthenate with 4-methylmorpholine N-oxide as co-oxidant has been found to oxidize selectively primary alcohols in the presence of secondary alcohols and to be highly efficient for the oxidation of primary-secondary 1,4- and 1,5-diols into five- or six-membered ring lactones.Keywords
