Abstract
Temperatures within trees were measured with thermocouples. Fluctuations of temperature three inches beneath the bark of Eucalyptus pilularis and E. rubida were one-third those on the surface. Temperature did not fluctuate during a 24-hour period at the centre of a tree 85 inches in girth. A sudden variation of 22 degC at the bark face was damped to a 1.5 degC change several hours later at the tree centre. Keywords
