Electron Scattering from Neighboring Nuclei

A new method of measuring small variations of the charge distributions of neighboring nuclei, such as isotopes and isotones, has been developed. The method is based on a determination of the ratio of electron scattering cross sections near the diffraction dips. Experimental results are given for the combinations ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{58}$, ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{60}$ and ${\mathrm{Fe}}^{56}$, ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{58}$. Sample theoretical interpretations are presented.
