Abstract
Database management systems provide simulation analysts with a powerful tool for organizing, manag ing, analyzing, and reporting input data, outputs, and data gathered from the actual system. The Simulation Data Language (SDL) provides these capabilities in a form suited specifically to simu lation. SDL offers an organization for model out puts and other data, commands for managing data from models, and capabilities for analyzing and reporting model outputs and other data independently of the running of models. This paper describes how to use database capabilities in simulation studies, shows how data is organized in SDL, and discusses SDL commands. Keywords
