Abstract
The lactation response to pituitary hormones of the udders of dairy heifers which had been developed by either stilbestrol or stilbestrol plus progesterone was studied. Prolactin injns. had little or no effect in stimulating lactation. Growth hormone prepns. had marked galactopoietic effects. Thyrotropin also stimulated lactation to a marked extent. In general the lactation responses of udders developed with stilbestrol were much better than those of udders developed with a combination of stilbestrol plus progesterone. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
