Abstract
The case described appears to be a typical lymphosarcomatosis of the abdominal type with the unusual feature of marked splenornegaly. The enlargement of the spleen was presumably due to involvement of the vessels in the tumour mass at the hilum causing chronic congestion, thrombosis and infarction. The regional character of this type of sarcoma is well known and metastases in distant organs are rare. The primary seat was probably in the mesenteric lymph nodes from which the tumour extended widely throughout the abdomen.
