Abstract
The semicontinuous hidden Markov model (SCHMM) of speech has been shown to offer improved performance in comparison to conventional discrete HMM. Experimental results with different vector quantisation levels, different probability density functions, and different numbers of tokens in the training set for the SCHMM are reported here to compare with conventional discrete HMM.Keywords
