Abstract
An estimate of the potential surface of the system (K–Cl–Cl) has been made by first considering the configuration (K+, Cl2−) in a perturbation and variation treatment, and then considering with the aid of a number of approximations the combination of ionic and neutral terms (K, Cl2), (KCl, Cl).Keywords
