Abstract
An experimental surgical procedure of uterine transplantation using the omentum as a vascular supply was performed in 20 dogs. Eight of the 10 uterine autografts were considered viable. Five of the 10 dogs with homografts were treated with immunosuppressive drugs, but no significant differences in the rejection reaction between the 2 groups were noted. The described clinical behavior, laboratory studies, and gross and microscopic findings supply more information about the rejection characteristics of this organ. Keywords
