AMYLOIDOSIS SECONDARY TO CHRONIC ULCERATIVE COLITIS

Abstract
Amyloidosis secondary to chronic ulcerative colitis is a rare occurrence. This case report is the 7th to be reported in detail. Notable features were the presence of a chronic perianal fistula preceding clinical and roentgenologic manifestations of ulcerative colitis, the short duration of the primary disease (less than 2 years), and the use of needle biopsy to establish the diagnosis.
