Abstract
The principles of management of thumb injuries are outlined. Primary treatment for specific soft tissue injuries, grouped according to their anatomical sites, is detailed. Definitive reconstruction is described where appropriate. Amputations are classified and the appropriate primary definitive management outlined. The feasibility of autografting the amputated thumb is mentioned.Keywords
