Abstract
Reversal processes in a continuous, thin, uniaxial magnetic film have been studied. The applied field was produced by a narrow strip conductor laid over the film and parallel to its easy axis. A hysteresis loop technique is described for measuring the magnetization distribution under the strip. Gradual changes in the orientation of the magnetization over distances comparable to the strip width are reported. Internal demagnetizing fields are postulated as being significant in causing this distribution. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
