Obtaining Data by Telephone. A Clinical Evaluation of Hypnotic Drugs

Abstract
Daily telephone reports from patients receiving 1 or 1.5 tablets of 500 mg Ethinamate, 500 mg Glutethimide, 200 mg Methyprylon, 100 mg secobarbital sodium, or a blank were used to determine onset of sleep, duration of sleep, frequency of undesirable side-effects, and other data. Of these only the onset of sleep was significantly affected by administration of hypnotics. No differences among hypnotics were noted.
