Polymorphisms and markers associated with apolipoprotein B

Abstract
It has been clear for over 20 years that apolipoprotein B is a highly polymorphic protein. Today, several kinds of markers are available that can distinguish different forms of the protein and different alleles of the gene. These markers are being used singly or in various combinations to assess associations of different forms of the gene or protein with disease.
