Abstract
The occupational composition of civic and social organizations in Laramie, Wyoming was analyzed. Membership was found to be highly biased in favor of the upper occupational categories for all organizations combined and for each of the five organizational groupings (i.e. social, civic-special interest, civic, civic-social and social-special interest). The lower occupational category also had fewer multiple memberships and a hierarchy of organization types was found based upon occupational level. Keywords
