Abstract
Synopsis: The case is described of a patient with hyperparathyroidism who developed catatonic stupor, a rare complication. Electroencephalography proved to be of value in deciding the correct diagnosis and treatment. The relationship between hypercalcaemia, psychiatric symptoms, and EEG abnormalities is discussed in the light of the available literature. Keywords
