Abstract
Children's early attachment experiences can have a dramatic affect on their day-to-day behaviour, as well as on their social development in later life. Drawing from extensive interviews with adoptive parents, all of whose children were in their late adolescence or young adults at the time of research, David Howe asserts the value of understanding the influence of past care on present placements. Keywords
