Optical rotatory dispersion. Part XXVIII. The absolute configuration of otobain and derivatives

Abstract
Otobain is a lignan of the 4-aryltetralin type; its absolute configuration, and that of its derivatives, has been assigned on the basis of optical rotatory dispersion measurements. The lignan otobaphenol and isogalcatin (probably its methyl ether) are also discussed, and these compounds are shown to have the opposite absolute configuration to otobain.
