Identification and Characterization of Measles Virus 50S RNA

Abstract
Measles virus purified 50S RNA spread for electron microscopy appeared as single-stranded molecules with a mean length of 5.30 ± 1.48 µm. When total virus RNA or RNA from nucleocapsids was spread, double-stranded molecules were seen which had characteristics of 5.3-µm negative-strand viral RNA hybridized with its full-length complement.
