Anomalous Specific Heat of a One-Dimensional Disordered Solid

Abstract
We show the existence of localized low-energy excitations of configurational nature in a one-dimensional model of a disordered solid. The corresponding extra specific heat is computed and its relation to glasses and superionic conductors is discussed.Keywords
