An Experimental Study of the Dynamics of an Unsteady Turbulent Boundary Layer.

Abstract
Turbulent boundary layers with a time-dependent free-stream velocity occur in many fluid dynamic devices. The main objectives of the present work are as follows: to understand the characteristics of a turbulent boundary layer that develops under steady, zero-pressure gradient condition upstream, and is subjected to well-defined and sinusoidally varying adverse free-stream gradient downstream, and to provide a definitive data set that would serve as a test case for evaluating the performance of calculation procedures and turbulence models for such flows.
