Abstract
The transmission of gamma radiation from a "point isotropic" source of cobalt-60 through iron and lead has been measured out to a thickness of approximately 15 mean-free-paths. The dose build-up factors derived from the observed transmissions agree satisfactorily with the calculations based on the work of the National Bureau of Standards group and carried out by the Nuclear Development Associates. Keywords
