Abstract
After administration of ACTH the blood concentration of FFA increases in full-term, premature and small-for-date newborn 1 day old, and in full-term and small-for-date newborns 7 days old. This effect does not appear in infants. Glucose concentration rises in all groups of newborns and in infants. In the in vitro study ACTH increases release of FFA and glycerol from the subcutaneous AT in the newborn period only. Keywords
