A 125Te and 129I Mössbauer study of tellurium–selenium and tellurium–sulfur phases

Abstract
The 125Te Mössbauer absorption and 129I Mössbauer emission spectra of the alloys Te1−xSex (0<x1−xSx (0<x1−xSex system the 129I impurity atom serves as a more sensitive probe than the parent tellurium atom to changes in lattice environment with changing composition of the alloy. The 129I results provide evidence for the formation of copolymer chains at the Te0.5Se0.5 composition. Results for the Te1−xSx system are also briefly discussed.
