Abstract
The relaxation behaviour of bone, cartilage, and tendon of several vertebrates was investigated. The damping maxima of the various materials occur at the same temperatures at a frequency of 1 Hz. The curves of the dynamic shear moduli show a tendency for such materials to lose their visco-elastic behaviour when the amount of collagen decreases. Keywords
