Behavior of Autocorrelation Functions

This paper is concerned with the behavior of the autocorrelation and memory functions of statistical mechanics as $t\to \infty$. A simple calculation shows that for a large class of models leading to power-law behavior, the two functions have opposite sign and common functional behavior in the limit $t\to \infty$.
