Abstract
The results of three cases of gastric neoplasms demonstrated by ultrasound are presented. A new sign was observed to establish gastric origin and to aid in the further differentiation of the mucosal or intramural origin of gastric masses. A mucosal mass shows evidence of mucosa insinuating between the mass and the muscularis. An intramural mass shows the mucosa draped over the mass on one side and the serosa draped over the other side. Widening of the intramural tissues between the mucosal and the serosal layers immediately adjacent to the junction of the mass to the gastric wall layers was seen. This sign will be helpful in the differential diagnosis of gastric neoplasms. Keywords
