An anaerobic incubation procedure for the major nutrients for cereal crops

Abstract
It is of utmost need to have a quick and suitable soil test method to analyze a large number of soil samples for various soils and crops. Ten procedures for N, 3 for P and K and 3 for N, P and K together were tried on surface (0-15 cm) soil samples collected from control plots of field experiments conducted on 3 different soil series of Delhi [India] with wheat, bajra (Pennisetum typhoides) and rice crops. Of the methods tried, anaerobic incubation procedure for the determination of available N is applicable to submerged rice crop, showed significant correlation with yields of aerable crops of bajra and wheat. The same method was superior to others for the simultaneous extraction of P and K.
