Abstract
The 1728 m2 Kuwait solar pond, which is located in a dry and windy area, has now experienced three build-up periods. This paper discusses the experience gained from operating the pond during these periods which occured at different times in the year. Two different wind-breaking systems are also described and the results confirm that solar ponds are site specific. The importance of selecting an appropriate time of year to start the gradient build-up is emphasized. Keywords
