Abstract
This is the second of two articles that explore the potential for using portfolios in professional practice. Part 1 focused on the practical use of portfolios. Part 2 examines some of the theory relating to experiential learning. It presents strategies for enabling individuals to reflect on experience, identify learning outcomes and document them in some structured way. The article shows how learning outcomes form the basis of portfolios used for professional updating, career enhancement and academic award. Keywords
