Abstract
The following pages con tain National Standards for Diabetes Patient Education Programs de veloped under the aegis of the National Diabetes Ad visory Board and endorsed by the diabetes commu nity. The standards consist of 10 components. Each component is divided into standards applicable to the institution sponsoring the program and standards ap plicable to the program itself. All standards are measured by review cri teria that have been exten sively pilot tested to en sure an appropriate blend of stringency and prac ticality.
